Abstract

© 2017 IEEE.This paper proposed a current-source inverter for avionic systems. The topology has a DC link inductor in series with the battery to create a constant current-source. A single high-frequency switch is used to supply a sinusoidal pulse width modulated output current. A SCR-based H-bridge inverter "unfolds" the output of the switch to produce a 400 Hz AC output current after a capacitive-inductive low-pass filter. The proposed inverter concept is validated with simulations and Typhoon HIL® real-time experimental testing.
