Giriş Amaç:
Turizm ve rekreasyon, bireylerin tatil süreçlerinde önemli rol oynayan iki temel kavramdır. Rekreasyon, bireylerin boş zamanlarını değerlendirerek fiziksel ve ruhsal bütünlüklerini yeniden kazanmalarını sağlayan bir süreçtir. Seyahat eden bireyler için rekreasyon, yalnızca eğlence ve dinlenme aracı değil, aynı zamanda sosyal etkileşimi destekleyen ve destinasyon deneyimini zenginleştiren bir unsurdur. Bu süreçte turist rehberleri, rekreasyonel faaliyetlerin düzenlenmesi ve yönetilmesinde kritik bir rol üstlenmektedir. Rehberler, tur programlarını çeşitlendirerek turistlerin aktif katılımını teşvik eden etkinlikleri tasarlamakta ve uygulamaktadır. Bu çalışma, turist rehberlerinin rekreasyonel faaliyetler yoluyla turist deneyimlerini nasıl yönlendirdiğini ve turun genel akışına etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır.
Yöntem:
Bu çalışmada, tur rehberlerinin rekreatif açıdan turistlerin deneyimlerini nasıl şekillendirdiğini ortaya koymak için nitel yöntemlerden derinlemesine görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Derinlemesine görüşme, bir kişinin düşüncelerini, hislerini, deneyimlerini ve inançlarını anlamak amacıyla yapılan kapsamlı ve detaylı bir görüşme tekniğidir. Bu yöntem ile turist rehberlerinin turlardaki rolünü anlamak ve daha kapsamlı veri toplamak için seçilmiştir. Çalışmanın evrenini Türkiye’de turist rehberi kokartı olan ve aktif olarak rehberlik yapan turist rehberleri oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplamak amacıyla turist rehberlerine ulaşmak için kartopu örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Kartopu örnekleme yöntemi özellikle zor erişilen ya da az sayıda bulunan bir gruptan veri toplamak için kullanılan bir örnekleme yöntemidir. Toplamda kokartı olan ve aktif olarak turist rehberliği yapan dokuz kişi ile görüşme yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler deşifre edilmiştir. Verilerin geçerlilik güvenilirlik kriterleri dikkate alınarak temaların belirlenmesinde tematik analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu yöntemle önemli temalar, örüntüler ve anlamlı kalıplar ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır.
Bulgular:
Turist rehberleri, turistlerin tur sürecindeki rekreasyonel deneyimlerini zenginleştirerek seyahat tatminlerini artırmaktadır. Turist profiline uygun planlama, turun başarısında belirleyici bir faktördür. Genç turistler için macera ve sosyalleşmeye yönelik etkinlikler, kültürel turistler için derinlemesine anlatımlar ve keşif odaklı deneyimler sunulmaktadır. Turların monotonlaşmasını önlemek için rekreatif faaliyetlere geniş yer verilmektedir. Farklı bölgelerde, destinasyonun sunduğu doğal, kültürel ve tarihi özelliklere uygun olarak planlanan rekreatif faaliyetler, turun akışını daha dinamik ve keyifli hale getirmektedir. Sosyal medya popülerliği de tur programlarını şekillendiren önemli bir faktördür. Rehberler, tur sırasında serbest zamanları planlayarak, turistlerin destinasyonda daha bilinçli ve aktif vakit geçirmelerine olanak tanımaktadır. Olumlu ve olumsuz deneyimlerde ise rehberler grup motivasyonunu korumak, alternatif rotalar oluşturmak ve hava koşulları gibi beklenmedik durumlarda çözüm üretmek için önemli bir rol üstlenmektedir. Böylece rehberler, rekreatif etkinliklerle turistlerin seyahatlerini unutulmaz hale getirmektedir.
Sonuç:
Bu çalışma, turist rehberlerinin turistlerin rekreasyonel faaliyetlere katılımında ve seyahat deneyimlerinin şekillenmesinde kritik bir role sahip olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Rehberler, turistlerin yaş, kültürel altyapı, ilgi alanları ve beklentilerine göre tur programlarını şekillendirerek turun monotonlaşmasını önlemekte, etkinlik çeşitliliği sağlayarak destinasyonu daha bilinçli ve anlamlı keşfetmelerini desteklemektedir. Turistlerin boş zamanlarını daha verimli kullanmaları için kişiselleştirilmiş önerilerle yerel kültür ve yaşamla bağ kurmalarını sağlamakta, beklenmedik durumlarda hızlı ve esnek çözümler geliştirerek olumsuz deneyimleri en aza indirmektedir. Sonuç olarak, rehberlerin bu aktif yönlendirme ve planlama rolleri, turist memnuniyetini ve seyahat deneyimlerinin kalitesini önemli ölçüde artırmaktadır.
Introduction and Aim:
Tourism and recreation are two fundamental concepts that play a significant role in individuals' vacation experiences. Recreation is
a process that allows individuals to restore their physical and mental well-being by engaging in leisure activities. For travelers,
recreation is not only a means of entertainment and relaxation but also a key element that enhances social interaction and enriches
the destination experience. In this process, tour guides play a critical role in organizing and managing recreational activities. They
diversify tour programs by designing and implementing activities that encourage tourists' active participation. This study aims to
examine how tour guides shape tourist experiences through recreational activities and their impact on the overall flow of the tour.
Method:
In this study, the qualitative method of in-depth interviewing was utilized to examine how tour guides shape tourists' recreational
experiences. An in-depth interview is a comprehensive and detailed technique aimed at understanding a person's thoughts, emotions,
experiences, and beliefs. This method was chosen to gain deeper insights into the role of tourist guides during tours and to collect
extensive data. The study population consisted of licensed and actively working tour guides in Turkey. The snowball sampling method
was employed to reach participants, as it is particularly useful for collecting data from groups that are difficult to access or limited in
number. A total of nine licensed and actively working tour guides were interviewed. Data obtained from semi-structured interviews
were analyzed using thematic analysis, aiming to identify significant themes, patterns, and meaningful structures.
Findings:
Tour guides enhance tourists' recreational experiences during tours, increasing their overall travel satisfaction. Proper planning
tailored to the tourist profile is a key factor in the success of a tour. Adventure and social-oriented activities are offered for young
tourists, while in-depth narratives and exploration-focused experiences are provided for cultural tourists. To prevent tours from
becoming monotonous, recreational activities are extensively incorporated. Recreational activities planned in different regions,
aligned with the destination’s natural, cultural, and historical characteristics, make the tour flow more dynamic and enjoyable. The
popularity of social media also plays a significant role in shaping tour itineraries. Guides structure free time during tours, allowing
tourists to engage with the destination more actively and meaningfully. In both positive and challenging situations, guides play a
crucial role in maintaining group motivation, adjusting itineraries, and providing solutions to unexpected circumstances such as
weather conditions. Thus, by integrating recreational activities, tour guides help create unforgettable travel experiences for tourists.
Conclusion:
This study reveals that tour guides play a crucial role in tourists' participation in recreational activities and in shaping their overall
travel experiences. By tailoring tour programs to tourists' age, cultural background, interests, and expectations, guides prevent
monotony, enhance activity diversity, and enable a more conscious and meaningful exploration of destinations. They also facilitate
tourists' connection with local culture and daily life through personalized recommendations, helping them make more efficient use of
their free time. Additionally, guides develop quick and flexible solutions to unexpected situations, minimizing negative experiences.
Ultimately, these active guidance and planning roles significantly enhance tourist satisfaction and improve the quality of travel
experiences.
