A web-based education module for sustainable training of paediatric oncology nurses (PedOncoNurs): A feasibility study from Turkey

Özet
Background: The absence of a standardised curriculum in paediatric oncology nursing creates a significant gap in the care of children with cancer. Aim: This study aims to assess the feasibility, usability, and accessibility of the PedOncoNurs web-based educational model for paediatric oncology nurses. Methods: The RE-AIM framework was included to assess implementation outcomes, including acceptability, fidelity, and satisfaction. A pilot application was conducted with 36 paediatric oncology experts. Results: Usability testing showed strong acceptance: 94.1% found PedOncoNurs easy to use, 100% rated the content clear, 91.2% felt it met their needs, and 97.1% intended continued use. Web-design experts rated aesthetics and originality positively (80%) and confirmed clear navigation and full cross-device compatibility (100%). Satisfaction was high, with scores of 9/10 for content quality and usefulness and 8/10 for ease of use and design. Conclusion: This feasibility study demonstrates that PedOncoNurs is a sustainable and accessible educational resource for paediatric oncology nurses, with strong potential to address existing training gaps and inform future large-scale evaluations of digital learning platforms.
