Ekonomik Asimetri Çerçevesinde Türkiye ve Yunanistan: 1991-2023 Dönemi

Özet

Ülkelerde asimetri, iki veya daha fazla ülke arasındaki politik, ekonomik, sosyal, kültürel veya askeri farklılıkların dengesiz olması durumudur. Bu çalışmada da ekonomik asimetri çerçevesinde Türkiye ve Yunanistan’ın 1991-2023 yılları arasına ait ekonomik performanslarının CRITIC ve MARCOS yöntemleri ile değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada ülkelerin ekonomik performansını ölçmek amacıyla gayri safi yurt içi hasıla (GSYİH), kişi başına düşen gayri safi yurt içi hasıla, enflasyon, işsizlik toplam, mal ve hizmet ihracatı (GSYİH'nin %'si), mal ve hizmet ihracatı (cari ABD doları), mal ve hizmet ithalatı (GSYİH'nin %'si), mal ve hizmet ithalatı (cari ABD doları) gibi seçilmiş sekiz (8) adet ekonomik değerlendirme kriteri kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, Türkiye’nin ekonomik performansının en yüksek olduğu yıl 2013 yılı olarak bulunurken, ekonomik performansın en düşük olduğu yıl ise 1993 yılı olarak bulunmuştur. Yunanistan’ın ekonomik performansının en yüksek olduğu yıl 2008 yılı olarak bulunurken, ekonomik performansın en düşük olduğu yıl ise 1998 yılı olarak bulunmuştur.

Asymmetry between countries denotes the disparity in political, economic, social, cultural, or military attributes among two or more states. This study seeks to assess the economic performance of Turkey and Greece from 1991 to 2023 via the lens of economic asymmetry utilizing the CRITIC and MARCOS methodologies. Eight specific economic evaluation criteria were employed to assess the economic performance of the countries: Gross Domestic Product (GDP), GDP per capita, inflation, total unemployment, exports of goods and services as a percentage of GDP, exports of goods and services in current USD, imports of goods and services as a percentage of GDP, and imports of goods and services in current USD. Consequently, it was determined that Turkey's most effective economic performance was in 2013, while its least effective economic performance was in 1993. Greece's peak economic performance occurred in 2008, but its lowest level was in 1998.
