Although the research community has widely acknowledged food-related image research, there are limited studies on ethnic restaurant image, particularly in a cultural heritage destination context. Considering the evidence gaps, this study aims to explore components of the ethnic restaurant image by focusing on a cultural heritage setting (i.e., Cappadocia). To address this aim, a qualitative research approach was adopted, and online narratives posted by travelers were included in the data analysis. As a result of data analysis, six major themes were revealed: “authenticity and adaptation in cross-cultural cuisine”, “a cultural journey into exoticism”, “the harmony of hospitality and service: a cross-cultural fusion”, “the role of cultural sensitivity”, “immersive atmosphere and thematic ambiance” and “a taste of home away from home: culinary fatigue and the seek for variety”. These results will support gastronomy field in completing the main framework of the restaurant's image and help heritage destination practitioners to understand their image in a holistic way.
