Sebîlürreşâd Journal and the rich literature produced by the names written in this journal are sources of many historical and sociological studies. Contributing to the creation of this rich literature, the authors have been subject to various studies in the context of both their articles in the journal and their action lives, and many have been provided with a separate biography. S. M. Tevfik, who went to India in 1912 as the journal’s “Correspondent of India” and wrote his observations there for nearly two years in the region, is the correspondent of Sebîlürreşâd, whose letters are mostly cited in the field studies. However, there is no information about who he was - including his full name most of the time - and how he lived before and after Sebîlürreşâd. This article aims to reveal the biography and actionality of an unprecedented biographer, politician and theorist who inspired the age of S. M. Tevfik, an important actor of the 20th century Islamist printing and one of the leaders of anti-imperialist Iranian modernization.
