Özet
Bu araştırma, dokuma sanatının tarihsel gelişimini ve çağdaş sanattaki dönüşümünü inceleyerek, seramik dokuma heykellerin güncel sanat bağlamındaki önemini tartışmaktadır. Temel amaç, geleneksel dokuma tekniklerinin seramik malzeme ile birleştiğinde nasıl yeni estetik ve kavramsal ifade olanakları sunduğunu ortaya koymaktır. Kapsamı, dokumanın tarihsel süreçteki dönüşümü, dokuma heykellere dair örneklerin incelenmesi, seramik dokuma heykellerin çağdaş sanattaki yeri ve kişisel uygulama süreciyle sınırlıdır. Araştırma uygulamalı sanat yöntemleri doğrultusunda yürütülmüştür. Bu kapsamda, öncelikle alandaki mevcut bilgi birikimini görmek amacıyla literatür incelenmiş ve seramik dokuma heykeller üzerine yapılan sanatsal çalışmalar değerlendirilmiştir. Ardından, ulusal ve uluslararası sanatçılardan seçilen örnekler analiz edilerek kullanılan malzeme çeşitliliği ve teknik yaklaşımlar karşılaştırılmıştır. Son aşamada ise uygulamaya dayalı deneysel bir süreç izlenmiş, farklı pişirim teknikleriyle üretilen seramik modüller tel dokuma yöntemiyle birleştirilmiştir. Bulgular, telin esnek ve bütünleştirici özelliği ile seramiğin katı ve kırılgan yapısının birleşerek estetik açıdan zengin heykelsi formlar ortaya çıkardığını göstermektedir. Sonuç olarak, seramik dokuma heykellerin, telin esnekliği ile seramiğin sert ve kırılgan yapısını bir araya getirerek özgün bir estetik dil oluşturduğu ortaya konmuştur. Uygulama çalışmalarında elde edilen formların biçimsel ve kavramsal açıdan uygulanabilir olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırma, alandaki sınırlı literatüre katkı sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır.
This study examines the historical development of weaving art and its transformation within contemporary art, discussing the significance of ceramic woven sculptures in the context of current artistic practices. The main objective of the research is to reveal how traditional weaving techniques, when combined with ceramic material, offer new aesthetic and conceptual possibilities of expression. The scope of the study is limited to the historical transformation of weaving, the analysis of weaving sculpture examples, the position of ceramic woven sculptures in contemporary art, and the personal production process. The research was conducted within the framework of practice-based art research. Accordingly, a literature review was carried out to identify the existing body of knowledge in the field, and previous studies on ceramic woven sculptures were evaluated. Subsequently, examples selected from national and international artists were analyzed, and the diversity of materials and technical approaches were compared. In the final stage, an experimental process was followed in which ceramic modules produced through different firing techniques were combined using wire weaving methods. The findings indicate that the combination of wire’s flexible and unifying character with the rigid and fragile nature of ceramic results in sculptural forms rich in aesthetic expression. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that ceramic woven sculptures create a unique aesthetic language by integrating the flexibility of wire with the rigid and brittle properties of ceramic. The research also shows that the forms obtained by this technique are both formally and conceptually applicable, aiming to contribute to the limited academic studies in this field.
