Biography
Ms Gamze Ozcakir (Özçakır) was born in Ankara, Turkey. She was aware of her interests in chemistry and maths in high school. So, she decided to study in chemical engineering. After she held her BSc and MSc degrees at Ankara University, she moved to another city in Turkey Bilecik for work. So, she got a research position there, and she finished her PhD studies at Bilecik University. Her PhD thesis was about MOF/Aerogel nanocomposite synthesis for glycerol carbonate production reaction via direct utilization of CO2. Gamze Ozcakir has studied life cycle assessment, green chemistry, MOF, hydrochar, agricultural waste, and silica/alumina-based materials synthesis for environmental remediations. Also, she is curious about plastic waste management and structural modeling of chemical reactions. Her personal interests are watching Seinfeld episodes, cinema, literature, theater, cooking, cats, and long walkings. She also likes to learn different languages. She knows Chinese, Russian, and French at beginner level.
