Dr. Serdar Özdemir is a
lecturer in the Department of Turkish Language at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali
University. He earned his Ph.D. in Turkish Language and Literature from the
same university, focusing on nominal clauses in Kazakh within a comparative
framework. His academic background includes an M.A. from Celal Bayar University
and a B.A. in Turkish Language and Literature from Kocaeli University. Dr.
Özdemir has taught Turkish abroad through the Yunus Emre Institute in India, North
Macedonia, and Montenegro, serving in both teaching and administrative
capacities. His research interests include historical Turkic languages,
comparative grammar, Turkic-Mongolic linguistic relations, and teaching Turkish
as a foreign language. He has authored several articles and book chapters on
Kazakh, Uzbek, and Kipchak Turkic, including topics such as verbals, auxiliary
constructions, and translation issues between Kazakh and Turkish. He has also
contributed to instructional materials for teaching Turkish to children. His
scholarly work demonstrates a consistent engagement with Central Asian Turkic
languages and their structural and historical dynamics.
